Medical Store Owner Arrested for Drug Dealing in Rautahat

In Rautahat, a person who was running a drug business under the cover of a medical store has been arrested. A team from the District Police Office's Drug Control Bureau apprehended the operator.

Details of the Arrest

The arrest was made by a team led by SI Tul Prasad Pudashaini. The individual arrested is 53-year-old Lal Babu (Dipendra) Kumar Sah from Chandrapur Municipality-7. Acting on a special tip-off, the police conducted a raid. During the operation, it was found that Sah was illegally selling and distributing the banned narcotic drug Tramadol through his medical shop.

Seizure of Evidence

The police team searched both Sah's shop and his house, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of illegal drugs. During the investigation, the police also checked a motorcycle. From Sah's possession, they seized 300 strips of Tramadol, totaling 3,000 pills, as confirmed by District Police Spokesperson DSP Raju Karki.

Ongoing Investigation

The confiscated motorcycle, the seized drugs, and the arrested individual have been taken under control and moved to the Chandra Nagar Lower Bazaar Police Post for further investigation. Preliminary investigations by the Drug Control Bureau suggest that Sah had been involved in selling drugs for a long time under the guise of his medical business. Police have stated that a detailed report of the incident will take some more time to be prepared.
