Arrests in Kailali District

Police in Kailali district have arrested two individuals in possession of illegal firearms. The arrest took place on Tuesday afternoon in Gauriganga Municipality-1. Those arrested have been identified as 19-year-old Samir Khadka and 19-year-old Abhas Chand, both local residents.

Weapons Seized
A joint team from the Kailali District Police Office and the local Area Police Offices conducted the operation. From Samir Khadka, the police seized one pistol, one magazine, and 28 rounds of bullets. From Abhas Chand, they confiscated one pistol. Police have also taken two other individuals connected to the incident into custody for further questioning.

Arrest in Gorakha District
In a separate incident in Gorakha district, police arrested a 63-year-old man. The arrestee is Ram Bahadur Rana Magar, a resident of Maiwal in Palungtar Municipality-3. He was arrested on Tuesday night.

Illegal Items Recovered
During a search of his house conducted by a team from the Thantipokhari Area Police Office, police discovered and seized two homemade muzzle-loading guns, a substance resembling gunpowder, and four iron rods. An investigation into the matter is currently underway.
