Nepal's Land: Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani

The ruling party, CPN-UML, has stated that the territories of Lipulekh, Limpiyadhura, and Kalapani belong to Nepal. Speaking during an urgent meeting of the House of Representatives, the party's chief whip, Mahesh Bartaula, expressed strong opposition to a recent agreement between India and China. He objected to the fact that this agreement allows for trade to pass through Lipulekh without Nepal's consent and participation.

Objection to the Agreement

Bartaula clarified that his party opposes any agreement between neighboring countries concerning trade across a border that lies on Nepali land, especially when it is done without Nepal's approval. He stated that the CPN-UML formally registers its disagreement with this understanding. He emphasized that while countries may be large or small in terms of geography and population, they are all equal in terms of their sovereignty and independence.

A Call for Diplomatic Action

Bartaula affirmed that his party will protest and strongly oppose any activity that hurts Nepal's independence, sovereignty, and sovereign rights. He also called on the government to pay immediate attention to resolving this matter through high-level diplomatic dialogue.
