Karnali Province Budget of NPR 35.39 Billion Passed

Surkhet. The budget of NPR 35.39 billion 85 million 48 thousand for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/084 brought by the Karnali government has been passed. The budget was passed by majority in the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Friday. Finance Minister Rajiv Bikram Shah had presented the budget in the parliament on Ashad 1. However, the budget was surrounded by controversies. Amidst the controversies, it was passed by the parliament on Friday after a 6-point agreement with the opposition. Out of the total budget of NPR 35.39 billion brought for the upcoming fiscal year, NPR 8.60 billion 45 million 56 thousand i.e. 24.31 percent has been allocated towards current expenditure and NPR 20.74 billion 67 million 12 thousand i.e. 55.31 percent towards capital expenditure. The budget has been passed in a way that programs such as plans placed by ministers against the rules of business and institutions in the names of leaders will not be implemented.
