Increase in Viral Fever Cases in Banke

Hospitals in Nepalgunj, Banke, are reporting a significant rise in patients suffering from viral fever. This increase is linked to recent changes in the weather. The constant shift between rain and hot temperatures has led to more cases of fever, colds, coughs, and pneumonia.

Symptoms and High Patient Numbers

Doctors are seeing many patients with symptoms like high fever, cough, sore throat, a hoarse voice, headache, and diarrhea. Senior Physician Dr. Sanket Kumar Rizal from Bheri Hospital reported that between 200 to 300 patients with viral flu come to that hospital alone every day for treatment. This trend is also seen at other hospitals, including the teaching hospital in Nepalgunj, as confirmed by its Medical Superintendent, Dr. Roman Kidawai. Private clinics in Nepalgunj and Kohalpur have also noted a rise in patients with viral fever, colds, pneumonia, and diarrhea.

Children Are Most Affected

Medical experts state that children are the most affected by this outbreak. Senior Pediatric Specialist Dr. Shakil Ahmed explained that children are the most vulnerable to weather changes. He mentioned that currently, all the children visiting his clinic are suffering from viral fever and coughs. He urged parents and guardians to be very cautious during this time.

Cause of the Outbreak

According to the doctors, the main reasons for the spread of this viral flu are the changing weather, contaminated water, and a lack of proper attention to food and drink hygiene.
