24 Casinos Approved to Operate Gambling This Year
The government has renewed operating licenses for 24 casino companies for the upcoming fiscal year 2082-83. The Tourism Department under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation granted the renewals after the companies completed all required procedures.
List of Approved Casinos
According to the department's public notice, eight casinos in Kathmandu Valley and 16 in major cities outside the valley have been approved for renewal. These include casinos operating in prestigious Kathmandu hotels as well as in key tourist and business hubs like Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Jhapa, Biratnagar, Birgunj, and Pokhara.

Casino Hotspots Outside Kathmandu
The highest concentration of casinos outside the valley is in Rupandehi's Siddharthanagar and Bhairahawa areas. Casinos will also operate in Jhapa, Morang, Parsa, Banke, Kaski, and Kapilvastu. Many casinos are strategically located near border areas to attract Indian tourists.
The government continues to regulate the industry while allowing licensed casinos to operate in designated zones.
