"Dorumba" Play to be Staged at Oscar's 'Sadhana Griha' Theater

Kathmandu – The play "Dorumba", which portrays the struggles of civilians caught between state forces and Maoist rebels during Nepal's civil conflict, will be staged at Oscar International College's "Sadhana Griha" theater starting Thursday, July 31, 2025 (Shrawan 15, 2082 BS). Written by Suman Kumar Wagle, the drama sheds light on the human cost of the decade-long insurgency.

Student-Led Production with Daily Performances

Directed by Yudip Sitoula, a 16th-batch acting specialization student, the play features performances by Oscar College’s acting students. It will run daily at 5:15 PM from July 31 to August 9, with an additional matinee show at 1:15 PM on Saturdays.

A Legacy of Theater at Sadhana Griha

The "Sadhana Griha" venue, part of Oscar College’s two-decade-old film and theater program, has previously hosted over half a dozen plays. The college confirms that it will continue to stage productions regularly, reinforcing its role in Nepal’s performing arts education.

The play’s narrative and student-driven execution highlight both historical reflection and the institution’s commitment to nurturing theatrical talent.
