Nepali Film "Eklo" Takes 6 Hours to Shoot a 2-Minute Scene

The production of the upcoming Nepali film "Eklo" faced an unexpected challenge during filming when a 2-minute scene required nearly 6 hours of shooting time. The sequence, which features actors Vijay Lama and Diya Pun, depicts a dramatic accident involving a car and a bicycle. Due to technical difficulties and repeated retakes, what should have been a quick shoot turned into a half-day endeavor.

Behind the Scenes Struggles

The scene, shot on Tuesday, demanded precise coordination between the actors and crew. However, set malfunctions ("सट बिग्रिए") forced multiple retakes, extending the filming time significantly. Despite the challenges, the cast and crew remained dedicated, with the actors putting in a full day’s effort to perfect the intense moment.

Star-Studded Cast and Crew

The film stars Pradeep Khadka in the lead role, alongside Vijay Lama, Diya Pun, Kavita Nepali, British actor Jamie Bacon, and Benisha Hamal. The production team includes Babu Shrestha as cinematographer, Raju Tamang as fight director, and Drona Prasad Paudel "Theuke" as production designer.

Release Plans and Ambitions

Scheduled for release in December 2025 (Poush month), "Eklo" is being positioned as a major Christmas season attraction. Director Pradeep Shahi, who was selected for the Cannes Producers Network, aims to bring Hollywood-level production quality to the project. Post-production work is currently underway in London, further emphasizing the film’s international aspirations.

Special Mentions

In a touching tribute, the film’s team released Diya Pun’s character poster on Mata Tirtha Aunsi (Mother’s Day), highlighting her role as a devoted mother in the story.

With its high ambitions and talented team, "Eklo" is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Nepali films of 2025. 🎬
