Footpath constructed to promote religious tourism

Rampur (Palpa), July 17: In an effort to enhance religious tourism, Rampur Municipality has constructed a footpath along the Kaligandaki River. Mayor Raman Bahadur Thapa announced that 2,567 meters of the walkway were completed in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. This project is part of a larger 34-kilometer pathway connecting Ramnadidham and Devghat, aimed at promoting the religious, cultural, and ecological significance of the region.
Progress and Construction Details
According to Mayor Thapa, ongoing work includes slate placement and interlocking to beautify the riverside and improve access to religious sites. Key construction updates include:

557 meters of stone paving in Ward 3 (Keladi)

191 meters in Ward 6 (Jagdipark)

432 meters in Tilakpur

195 meters near Sundar Funpark

678 meters in additional stretches
Additional work includes:

210 meters of interlocking in Bhujat (Ward 8)

114 meters of stone paving in Shalikram Park (Ward 10)

Waiting shelters have also been built in Bhanghat and Tatopani Ghat to accommodate visitors.
Collaborative Efforts and Future Prospects
The project was implemented in coordination between the federal government and Rampur Municipality. Given the Kaligandaki River’s religious significance linked to sacred sites like Ramnadi Dham, Keladi Dham, Ramghat Dham, Ridi Dham, and Devghat locals believe the new footpaths will significantly boost religious tourism in the area.
