India Defeats Afghanistan by 170 Runs in Second ODI, Clinches Series

Lucknow. India has defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin of 170 runs in the second One Day International cricket match played in Lucknow. With this victory, India has captured the three-match series with one game to spare.

Batting first after winning the toss, India scored a huge score like a mountain of 402 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Afghanistan, chasing a very challenging target of 403 runs, was all out for 232 runs in 44.3 overs. 

Afghanistan batsman Darwish Rasooli was retired hurt due to injury and did not return to bat. Captain Shubman Gill and opener Ishan Kishan played century innings for India's huge score.

Captain Gill played an excellent innings of 154 runs, while Kishan scored 125 runs. These two batsmen played a strong partnership of 224 runs for the third wicket, playing an important role in taking the team past the 400-run mark. In bowling, Arshdeep Singh and Gurkeerat Mann of India performed excellently, taking 3 wickets each.

For Afghanistan, Rahamat Shah contributed the most with 79 runs in batting, but it was not enough to give the team victory. Earlier, in bowling, Afghanistan's Nangeyalia Kharote took 4 wickets and captain Rashid Khan took 3 wickets.

India had won the first ODI played in Dharamshala by 7 wickets. The third and final match between India and Afghanistan, who have secured the series by winning two consecutive matches, will be played on June 20 in Chennai.
