Maoist Center benefits from current government's continuation: Prachanda

Kathmandu, March 4 — CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has clarified that his party is not involved in any efforts to change the current government, as the longer the government lasts, the more beneficial it is for his party.
He made these comments this morning at Nepalgunj Airport while speaking to journalists on his way to inaugurate the National Conference of the Tharu National Liberation Front in Kailali's Tikapur.
He further stated, "From the beginning, we have been saying that this government was formed in an opaque, unconstitutional, and undemocratic manner."
"The actions of the government so far have revealed its true intentions to the public, and the longer it lasts, the more advantageous it is for the Maoist Centre. We are already among the people, and this is favorable for us," he added.
Chairman Prachanda also criticized the government for its undemocratic practice of introducing ordinances, stating that it is unlikely that these ordinances would pass, and even if they did, they would not benefit the people.
He added that the Maoist Center's campaign for national unity would play a significant role in strengthening the country's cohesion.
He explained that the "Tarai-Madhesh Awakening Campaign" initiated by his party is strengthening its relationship with the people, contributing to national unity.
The campaign, he emphasized, is not just about speeches by leaders; it involves staying in people's homes, eating their food, discussing local issues, and interacting with civil society leaders, such as those from the Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Nepali Journalists, and the Nepal Bar Association. Through this engagement, the party is better able to understand the local situation, he said.
Prachanda also mentioned that the campaign would identify the problems faced by the people, connect with all sectors of society, and strengthen national unity through local cultural recognition.
