Maoist Center whip criticizes Congress whip's remarks on ordinances
Kathmandu, January 28 — Hitaraj Pandey, the Chief Whip of the CPN (Maoist Center), has expressed objection to the statement made by the Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress regarding running the government through ordinances.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee under House of Representatives held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday, Pandey accused Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Ghimire of suggesting that the government would now operate through ordinances.
He stated that such a move would not be favorable for the opposition or the public. Pandey emphasized that running the government through ordinances is a significant issue for the people and opposition parties.
He said, "The ministers claimed that the ordinance was introduced because the government needed it. After that, the Chief Whip of the largest party in the House stated that the government would now operate through ordinances. This is a serious matter for the public and the opposition. We will raise this issue seriously in Parliament."
In response, Ghimire accused Pandey of spreading confusion in an exaggerated manner.
