One dead, one injured in tipper-motorcycle collision in Myagdi
Myagdi, January 26 — One person has died and another has been injured after being hit by a tipper truck in Beni Municipality-6, Dammaraa, Myagdi.
The tipper truck, with registration number Ga 1 Ka 5735, was heading towards Singa Tatopani from Beni when it collided with a motorcycle, number Dha 7 Pa 4005, coming from the opposite direction on Saturday evening.
According to the Myagdi District Police Office, the motorcyclist, 46-year-old Thambahadur Roka from Mangala Rural Municipality-3, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a medical college in Pokhara.
The pillion rider, 45-year-old Prem Shahi from Manglaghat, Beni Municipality-7, is being treated at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.
Both Roka and Shahi, who were seriously injured, were initially treated at the Provincial Hospital in Beni before being transferred to Pokhara on Saturday night for further treatment.
The tipper driver, 38-year-old Khime Darji from Pulachaur, Beni Municipality-5, is in police custody, and investigations into the incident are ongoing, according to Police Inspector Sagar Poudel.
