7 Nepali victims identified in India train accident

Kathmandu, January 24 — The identities of the 7 Nepali nationals who died in a train accident in India have been confirmed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release on Friday, confirming the death of the 7 Nepalis.

The deceased have been identified as Kamala Nabin Bhandari and Lachhiram Pasi from Kailali, Himu Nandaram Bishwakarma, Nandram Padma Bishwakarma, Maisara Kami Bishwakarma, Jokla (also known as Kala Kami) from Achham, and Radheshyam Radh from Banke.

Additionally, 4 other Nepali nationals were injured in the accident. The injured have been receiving treatment at local hospitals, with one person in serious condition being treated at Godavari Hospital in Jalgaon.

The Ministry has coordinated and facilitated with the relevant Indian authorities through the embassy in Delhi and the Indian embassy in Kathmandu for the repatriation of the deceased and the swift treatment of the injured.

The accident occurred on the evening of January 22 in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra.

In addition to the Nepali casualties, 6 other people also lost their lives in the incident.
