Six deaths reported in various traffic accidents nationwide

Kathmandu, January 24 — Six people have lost their lives in various traffic accidents across Nepal.

According to the police headquarters, a bus traveling from Betalmandau in Bajura to Mahendranagar, with registration number Su.Pa.Pro.02-001 Kha 1020, struck and killed 4-year-old Nisu Lohar at Betalmandau in Budhiganga Municipality-8, Bajura, on Thursday afternoon. 

The boy, son of Kul Bahadur Lohar, died at the scene. The bus driver has been taken into police custody.

Similarly, in Kshireshwornath Municipality-3 of Dhanusa, a tractor with registration number Ja.1 Ta 4101 was involved in a crash on Thursday afternoon, killing 28-year-old Jay Kishor Sardar, a resident of Bhangaha Municipality-9 in Mahottari. The tractor’s helper is currently receiving treatment at K.C Hospital in Mahendranagar, Dhanusa.

In Rolpa, on the road at Bibang, Gangadev Rural Municipality-1, a double-cab vehicle with registration number Ga.1 Ja 5742 lost control and crashed while heading from Tulsipur to Chaitekafal Meltari on Thursday afternoon. The accident killed 14-year-old Umesh Gharti, a resident of the same place.

The driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody by the police.

In Sarlahi, in Balara Municipality-2, a four-wheeled cart with registration number BR 06 P 2662 hit and killed 3-year-old Sohani Kumari Rai, a resident of the same place, on Thursday evening. She succumbed to her injuries while being treated at a hospital in Majorganj, India. The driver of the cart is currently on the run, and the police are searching for him.

Similarly, in Rupandehi, at Dhakdhai in Rohini Rural Municipality-3, a motorcycle with registration number Lu.82 Pa 2755 collided with a truck with registration number Na.1 Ka 1753 on Thursday evening. The motorcyclist, Krishna Murali Khanal, 37, from Banaganga Rural Municipality-3 in Kapilvastu, died during treatment at a medical college in Bhairahawa. The truck driver has been taken into police custody.

In Mahottari, in Gaushala Municipality-9 at Bisarpur, a motorcycle with registration number Ja.12 Pa 3580 lost control and crashed while heading from Gaushala to Bisarpur on Thursday night, killing 45-year-old Jay Prakash Yadav, a resident of the same place. He died during treatment at the Bardibas government hospital. The police are conducting an investigation into the incident.
