NEPSE index rises by 49 points, market up by 1.89%

Kathmandu, January 6 — On Monday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index rose by 49 points.

The overall market increased by 1.89%, reaching 2,640.68 points.

The Sensitive Index also increased by 1.51%.

Trading volume also saw an increase on Monday. A total of 1,54,61,000 shares were bought and sold, amounting to a turnover of NPR 6.3 billion.

On Monday, the values of 226 companies increased. Among them, the share price of Atmanirbhar Laghubitta saw a positive circuit, while Super Madi Hydropower's share price rose by 9.70%.

Meanwhile, the value of only 12 companies decreased, and 4 companies had stable prices.

All subgroups of Nepse saw an increase on Monday.

Companies from sectors like hydropower, investment, development banks, hotels and tourism, and life insurance played a major role in pushing the overall market up.
