Two swept away while making TikTok videos by river in Tehrathum

Tehrathum, December 21 — Two people have tragically died while making TikTok videos by the river in Tehrathum today.

The victims are 23-year-old nurse Rabina Rajbanshi, who worked at Gaukhuri Secondary School in Menchhyayem Rural Municipality-5, and 13-year-old Susmita Bhattarai, a 7th-grade student at the same school.

According to Kamal Sapkota, the vice principal of the school, the two had gone to the Khorangwa River to celebrate the weekend. While making TikTok videos by the riverbank, they slipped and fell into the river, where they were swept away.

The bodies were discovered later in the afternoon and recovered by the police.

Chinimaya Tamang, the chief of the District Police Office, confirmed that the bodies will be handed over to the families on Sunday.
