Update: Eight killed, five injured in Rautahat vehicle crash
Rautahat, December 10 — The identities of the eight people who lost their lives in a road accident on the highway in Rautahat, while returning after visiting the Gadhimai Temple in Bariyarpur, Bara, have been identified.
The accident resulted in the death of 8 people, including the driver, and 5 others were injured.
The accident took place today, Tuesday morning, when a Scorpio jeep with registration number BA 16 CHA 3162, carrying devotees, crashed near the Dhansar-Lamaha stream in Chandrapur Municipality of Rautahat, along the East-West Highway.
The injured, including children, are 30-year-old Radha Mahara, 2-year-old Aryan Mahara, 25-year-old Dev Kumari Mahara, 7-year-old Hrithik Mahara, and 60-year-old Kanya Devi Mahara.
After receiving first aid at the Chandranigahpur Hospital, the injured were transferred to Vayodha Hospital in Birgunj at around 4:15 AM by ambulance, as informed by the police.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, according to the area police office in Chandranigahapur.
