Screening of Purna Bahadurko Saarangi to be removed from theaters
Kathmandu – "Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi," the highest-grossing Nepali film in history, will be removed from theaters across the country starting Monday.
Despite its strong box office performance, the film is being pulled due to unfair treatment by theaters in favor of the Indian film "Pushpa 2." The production company, Seven Sis Cinema, has decided to withdraw the film after being unable to secure proper showings.
In a press release, 7 SEAS Cinema expressed gratitude for the love and support received from audiences but regretted having to halt the film’s screening. The company stated, "Due to the neglectful behavior of some theaters towards our film, we were compelled to take this decision."
The release also mentioned that the film was being "cornered" in theaters, forcing the company to take action.
7 SEAS Cinema apologized deeply for the suspension and promised to return to the theaters with new films, keeping the expectations of the audience in mind.
The film features performances by Bijay Baral, Anjana Barailee, Mukunda Bhusal, Prakash Saput, Mao Tse Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, and Binod Neupane, among others. Directed by Saroj Paudel, "Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi" tells the story of a father’s struggles and sacrifices for his son’s future.
