87-member delegation to accompany PM Oli on China trip

Kathmandu, November 28 — The schedule for the delegation led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's visit to China has been approved. The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved the Prime Minister’s China visit.

The delegation will consist of 87 members, with 39 government officials and 48 from the private sector.

The government delegation will include Prime Minister’s wife Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, the Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic Advisor Yubaraj Khatiwada, Members of Parliament Arjun Narsingh KC, Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Lilanath Shrestha, Bijula Rayamajhi, Rekha Sharma, Birendra Prasad Mahato, Deepak Karki, Sarbendra Nath Shukla, Ranjita Shrestha, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Secretaries Ram Prasad Ghimire, Amrit Bahadur Rai (Acting Foreign Secretary) among others.

Additionally, the delegation includes CEO of the Investment Board Sushil Gyawali, Associate Professor at Madan Bhandari University of Science and Technology Padmasundar Joshi, the Prime Minister’s personal doctor Divya Singh Shah, Chief Personal Secretary Rajesh Bajracharya, and other officials Krishna Prasad Dhakal, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, Maniratna Sharma, Uday Pokharel, Kamal Rawal, Richa Bhattarai, Janaki Ojha, Sujan Lamichhane, Binod Khanal, Jaishree Shakya, and Anita Singh.

Meanwhile, seven officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have already departed for China earlier. The Cabinet meeting also confirmed that 48 individuals from the private sector would join the delegation on the visit to China, according to a Cabinet minister.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang on the December 3. The delegation will return to Nepal on December 5 after the visit.

In the meantime, the Prime Minister has instructed that no excessive security or special arrangements be made at the airport when VIPs and VVIPs travel abroad. When welcoming or bidding farewell to VIPs and VVIPs, only 14 people, including the Acting Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Chief Secretary, will go to the airport.
