UML leaders use govt vehicle in Suddhodan by-election campaign
Butwal, November 28 — Local residents in Shuddhodan Municipality-1, Kapilvastu, obstructed the use of a government vehicle by Communist Party of Nepal (UML) leaders during the by-election campaign.
The locals even took control of the vehicle, which had a government license plate.
The vehicle, number Lu. Ba. 1297, was being used today by Giridhari Lal Neupane, Chairperson of the Special Rights Committee of Lumbini Province, in the Patariya area of Shuddhodan Municipality-1.
According to local Rabi Thakur, the vehicle was being used by provincial assembly member Neupane, UML District Chair Baburam Khanal, and other leaders, who were seen campaigning for the UML ward chair candidate, Mohomad Tahir Musalman, and seeking votes in his favor. Upon noticing this, locals seized the vehicle and handed it over to the police.
Assistant Election Officer Amar Oli confirmed that after receiving information about the incident, the police were dispatched to the location.
Kapilvastu’s Chief District Officer, Bishwaprakash Aryal, also confirmed the event and mentioned that the police are conducting further investigations.
