10 Maoists killed in encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bastar
RAIPUR, (India) November 22 — Ten Maoists were killed in yet another fierce encounter with security forces in the dense forests of the insurgency-hit Sukma district in the Bastar division on Friday morning.
Security forces recovered the bodies of ten Naxals along with weapons and explosives.
The latest killings come less than a week after five Maoists were killed in the Abujhmarh forest during a three-day anti-Naxalite operation. The latest killings took the Maoist death toll to 207 in 2024.
Bastar police officials said that the bodies of the Naxalites neutralised were recovered along with weapons, including INSAS, AK-47, SLR, and others.
According to preliminary information, a team of security personnel from CRPF and District Reserve Guards were out on anti-Naxalite operations after receiving specific inputs about the presence of Maoists from the Konta and Kistaram area committee.
While the operation was underway, security forces spotted Maoists spread across villages, hills, and forests of the Korajuguda, Dantespuram, Nagaram, and Bhandarpadar region in Bhejji, when an encounter broke out between them.
