Foton Nepal debuts 100 Mountain EVs, tailored for Nepal’s geographical challenges

Kathmandu, November 13 — Foton Nepal has launched its premium Mountain EV, specially designed for Nepal, by delivering 100 units of the electric vehicle (EV) to the Nepali market all at once.

Designed with Nepal’s challenging geographical needs in mind, the Mountain EV features a 53.58 kWh battery, providing a driving range of up to 300 kilometers on a full charge (according to the WLTP standard). It also boasts a maximum power of 130 kW, a peak torque of 330 Nm, and a gradeability of 25%, making it the first electric vehicle in the Nepali market with such specifications, according to the company.

Vivek Sikaria, Director of MAW-Vriddhi Commercial Vehicles, said, "We are extremely happy to launch the Foton Mountain EV van in the Nepali market today – it is an advanced electric vehicle that will take Nepal's automotive sector in a new direction. Considering Nepal's challenging roads, the Mountain EV is equipped with special features that make it ideal for the terrain."
