Five killed in traffic accidents across Nepal

Kathmandu, November 1 — Five people have died in traffic accidents across various districts, including Banke, Kavre, Palpa, and Chitwan.

In Banke, a motorcycle (number plate Bhe 3 Pa 2430) collided with a bus (number plate Bhe 1 Kha 2230) near Pushpalal Chowk in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-1 on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, 30-year-old Jitram Shah, a resident of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-18. He was seriously injured in the accident and later died while receiving treatment at a nursing home in Nepalgunj. The accident occurred when the motorcycle was overtaking the bus and collided with it, causing the bus to lose control and crash into an e-rickshaw (number plate Ne 1 Ha 1981).

Additionally, the e-rickshaw driver and two passengers sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the same hospital. The bus driver has been taken into custody by the police.

In another incident in Kavre, a scooter (number plate Ba.Pra.02-025 Pa 8776) lost control while traveling towards Dolalghat from Zero Kilometers in Bhumlu Rural Municipality-10 on Thursday afternoon. The 22-year-old driver, Bishal Chulagain, a resident of Panchkhal Municipality-2, died from his injuries while being treated at Dhulikhel Hospital.

In Palpa, a pedestrian, 53-year-old Tek Bahadur Dheka, died on Thursday evening after being hit by a truck (number plate Lu.2 Kha 145) in the vicinity of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality-2. He sustained severe injuries and died while receiving treatment at Lumbini Medical College in Prabhas, Palpa. The truck driver has also been taken into custody by the police.

In Chitwan, a motorcycle (number plate Ba.Pra.02-051 Pa 1021) lost control near Umbrella Street in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22 on Thursday night, resulting in the death of the rider, 31-year-old Ashok Bhujel, a resident of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-22. He succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at New Medical College in Bharatpur.

Similarly, in Nuwakot, a motorcycle (number plate Ba.62 Pa 2879) collided with a truck (number plate Ba-5 Kha 7016) on the road in Likhu Rural Municipality-6, resulting in the death of 36-year-old Binod Chulagain, a resident of Tadi Rural Municipality-3. He was seriously injured and died at Green City Hospital in Kathmandu.

The accident occurred when the motorcycle lost control after hitting a pedestrian and subsequently crashed into the truck. Both the motorcycle rider and the pedestrian who were injured are receiving treatment at the same hospital. The truck driver has been taken into custody by the police. Authorities have reported that an investigation into the accidents is ongoing.
