Cabinet decision: Government opens 57 new mountains for climbing

Kathmandu, October 8 — The government has opened 57 previously inaccessible mountains for climbing. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Monday.

Government spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, announced that additional mountains would now be available for expeditions.

Additionally, the government has decided to send Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, to participate in the World Urban Forum conference scheduled to be held in Cairo, Egypt from November 4 to 9, 2024.

Similarly, the Cabinet approved the proposal to send Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary, to attend the 22nd International Sports Forum in Russia from October 17 to 19, 2024.

Furthermore, the government has formed an Economy Reform Advisory Commission, chaired by former Finance Secretary Rameshwar Prasad Khanal. Minister Gurung stated that the commission has been established with a mandate to provide recommendations for improving the overall economy of the country.

The Cabinet also approved the Share and Loan Investment Policy 2024.
