12 Injured in Surkhet Jeep Accident, 5 Critical

Surkhet. 12 people were injured in a jeep accident in Lekbeshi, eastern Surkhet. 5 of the injured are in serious condition.

According to the District Police Office Surkhet, the accident occurred around 10 am on Tuesday at a place called Halkandra, which falls on the border of Ward No. 5 and 6 of Lekbeshi Municipality.

Police Deputy Superintendent Kabindrasingh Bohora informed that the passenger Mustang jeep with registration number Ve. 1 Kha 540, coming from Dadagaun towards Dasharathpur, went out of control on the slope and met with an accident.

The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Dipesh Pun from Lekbeshi Municipality 4, was injured in the accident. Similarly, 22-year-old Sushma Karki, 26-year-old Tilsara Siris, 70-year-old Amrita Karki, 70-year-old Khagisara BK, 7-year-old Darshan BK, and 25-year-old Juna Sunar from Lekbeshi 6 were injured.

Around 30-year-old Uma Rana, 23-year-old Mina Pariyar, 28-year-old Gita Sunar, 27-year-old Dilmaya BK, and 28-year-old Samiksha BK from the same place were also injured in the accident.

The seriously injured have been sent to Maya Nursing Home in Birendranagar for further treatment, while those with minor injuries are being treated at the local Dasharathpur Medical, said police spokesperson Bohora.
