CPN-UML unveils candidates for National Assembly elections across provinces

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has finalized its candidates for the upcoming National Assembly election, with 19 seats set to become vacant in March. The election is scheduled for January 25.

Shankhar Pokharel, the general secretary of the party, announced the selected candidates for different provinces. In Koshi Province, Rukmani Koirala has been chosen for Sunsari (female), and Parshu Ram Adhikari for Bhojpur (others). In Madesh Province, Usha Devi is nominated for Parsa (female), and Dr. Arjun Kumar Singh Rajput for Mahottari (others).

Moving to Bagmati Province, Roch Kumari Chaulagai is selected for Dolakha (female), Trilochan Nirmal Poudel for Chitwan (others), Bibek Devkota for Kathmandu (disabled/minority), and Durbaraj Bishwakarma for Dhading (Dalit).

In Gandaki Province, Samjana Devkota will represent Gorkha (female), Chakra Bahadur Parajuli for Syangja (others), and Hemandra Sherchan for Mustang (disabled/minority).

In Lumbini Province, Tulsa Kumari KC is the chosen candidate for Dang (female), and Jhapendra Bahadur Dharti Chhetri for Palpa (others).

For Karnali Province, Bimala Kumari Shahi is selected for Humla (female), Delhi Prasad Bhatta for Mugu (others), and Hikmat BK for Dailekh (Dalit). In Sudurpaschim Province, Sabitra Devi Ghimire will represent Kailali (female), Ishori Prasad Kharel for Kanchanpur (others), and Ram Chandra Joshi for Kailali (disabled/minority).
