Korean govt silent on shipbuilding applicants' participation in ESP exams

KATHMANDU: Applicants seeking employment in the Korean shipbuilding sector are granted additional time to fill out forms for upcoming manufacturing sector exams starting today.

This extension follows a fatal clash between ESP students and police in Balkumari, Lalitpur, prompting the Patan High Court to order the inclusion of all shipbuilding applicants in the upcoming ESP exams for labor selection in the manufacturing sector.

Despite the court's directive, the human Resource Development Center of Korea (HRDC) has not responded to the order.

Kamal Shrestha, Section Officer at EPS Korea Section, informed that the HRDC was notified promptly after the high court decision, but no response has been received to date.

With the HRDC remaining silent, even if the ESP Korea Section permits applicants to fill out forms, uncertainties loom over their examinations and subsequent selections.
