Six Supreme Court Justices appointed

KATHMANDU, Dec 20: President Ramchandra Paudel has, on the recommendation of the Judicial Council and in accordance with Article 129 (2) of the Constitution, appointed six justices to the Supreme Court.

Those appointed as new justices of Supreme Court today are Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Musalman, Mahesh Sharma Paudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Pokharel and Balkrishna Dhakal. 

Prior to this, Subedi, Mulsman, Sharma and Dhungana were High Court judges while Pokharel and Dhakal were senior advocates. 

Earlier today, the parliamentary hearing committee had approved their names, paving the way for their appointment.
