Balkrishna Khand released from prison after 7 months
KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Balkrishna Khand has been released from prison after 7 months with the decision of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to release Khand on a simple date.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had demanded a bail amount of Rupees 1.5 million earlier on Friday. After handing over Rupees 3 million to the District Court Kathmandu and Rupees 1.5 million to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation on Friday, he was taken to CIAA.
The Director General of the Department of Money Laundering Investigation Pushparaj Shahi told Ratopati that the Department decided to release Khand on bail of Rupees 1.5 million.
