Kathmandu, India has said that it is looking forward to working with the democratically elected government to take forward bilateral ties to newer heights for mutual benefit, and to support the Government of Nepal, as per its priorities, in its endeavours for rapid economic growth and development.
Indian External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, conveyed this message after her recent Nepal visit.
Congratulating the Government and people of Nepal for the successful conduct of three-tier elections, India said that it is an important milestone in the democratic transition of Nepal, according to a press statement issued by External Affairs Ministry of India on Friday late night.
She had arrived here on a two-day visit on Thursday. During her visit to Nepal, she called on President Bidya Devi Bhadari, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, as well as held meetings with CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, RJP leaders among other leaders.
