Director of Madhya Pahadi Lokmarga Harikumar Pokharel arrested on rape charges

KATHMANDU, July 28: The police have arrested the project director of the Madhya Pahadi Lokmarga project. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anil Adhikari of District Police Range Kathmandu told Ratopati that engineer Hari Kumar Pokharel was arrested from Tripureshwar, Kathmandu.

Pokharel is accused of raping a girl working at home. The girl filed a complaint at the Women and Children's Service Center in Kalimati. DSP Adhikari said that an investigation has been started against Engineer Pokharel after he was arrested from the Blue Cross Hospital in Tripureshwar.

Questions were also raised on social media about the rape incident involving him.
