Indian youth who looted NMB Bank arrested

MAHOTTARI, July 27: An Indian citizen who looted the NMB Bank located in Mahottari Rural Municipality-2 on May 30 has been arrested. The arrested is 20-year-old Ajay Kumar Safi of Madhubani, Bihar.

According to the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri, Safi was involved in the incident of looting Rs 15 Lakhs on May 30. They came masked and armed in a group of four to five people, looted the money and escaped in motorcycles with unconfirmed number plates.

Safi was arrested by the police on Wednesday evening near the Nepal-India border located in Matihani Municipality-8 of Mahottari. The police have informed that others involved in the robbery have also been identified. Superintendent of Police Prakash Malla informed that they will be arrested soon and made public.

The arrested, Ajay Safi, is being investigated by taking a time of 7 days for detention from the District Court Mahottari.
