Gold smuggling case update: One more arrested

KATHMANDU, July 26: One more person has been arrested by the Department of Revenue Investigation in the case of smuggling about 1 quintal of illegal gold from Tribhuwan Airport.

An official of the Department of Revenue Investigation told Ratopati that a person named Surendra Tamang was arrested from Kathmandu with the help of the armed police.

He was arrested by the Department under the accusation of finding a warehouse for the gold smugglers.

So far, 17 people including Surendra have been arrested in the case. The Department is investigating the arrestees within a deadline by the Patan High Court.
