The debate against the appointment of the Chief of the Koshi Province was concluded in the full bench of Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, Dr. Ananda Mohan Bhattarai and Til Prasad Shrestha on Wednesday.

A writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court on July 7 on behalf of former Chief Minister and UML Parliamentary Party leader Hikmat Kumar Karki, alleging that Congress Parliamentary Party leader Uddhav Thapa was unconstitutionally appointed Chief Minister.

Karki filed a writ petition against the Provincial Chief Parshuram Khapung, Chief Minister Thapa, and Speaker Baburam Gautam, saying that the signature of Speaker Gautam was also used for the formation of the government.
