India hikes LPG prices, lowers petrol and diesel prices in new price list
KATHMANDU, March 1: India has announced a change in the prices of petroleum products and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), with LPG prices going up while petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, and kerosene prices going down.
According to the new price list, the cost of LPG for cooking purposes has increased by Rs 339 which means the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) will have to pay Rs 2,435 per cylinder. Nepal Oil Corporation will have to bear a loss of Rs 635 per cylinder now until a new selling price is decided.
On the other hand, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 1.21 per liter, and diesel's price has gone down by Rs 5.05 per liter.
Additionally, the prices of aviation fuel and kerosene have also been lowered by Rs seven and 3.40 per liter, respectively.
These changes are expected to have a significant impact on the country's energy sector, particularly for households and industries that rely on LPG for cooking and other purposes.
