Prachanda proposes asset disclosure for party office-bearers

Kathmandu, January 5 — Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', the chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), has proposed to make public the assets of all party office-bearers.

He presented this proposal during the Central Committee meeting that began on Sunday at the Smart Darbar Banquet in Dhumbarahi.

According to Secretary Chakrapani Khanal, the proposal is to disclose the asset details of party office-bearers by the first of Falgun (approximately mid-February). He also proposed that other leaders submit their asset details to the central office.

The proposal emphasizes the need for purification within the party, starting with the central leaders.

It suggests making public the assets of all office-bearers, including central members and provincial leaders.

Additionally, the proposal includes auditing all leaders' assets at the central office and, if necessary, making them public.

A deadline of the first of Falgun has been set for this process.

Furthermore, the proposal also seeks to provide information on the income sources and the means by which leaders are living.
