UML decides to expedite party unification process with Maoist Centre

Bhaktapur, CPN (UML) has decided to speed up the party unification process with the CPN (Maoist Centre). 
A standing committee meeting of the UML held at party chairman KP Sharma Oli's residence in Balkot Monday decided to finalize the party unification bid soon, UML secretary Yogesh Bhattarai said. 
Secretary Bhattarai said that a taskforce would be formed, if necessary, to sort out ideological differences and portfolio sharing as part of party unification with the Maoist Centre. 
"The talks between two parties' chairs on unification process have moved ahead positively and party unification has gained momentum. Party unification coordination committee's meeting on Tuesday would form a taskforce regarding the provision of philosophic, ideological and organizational bases required for party unification and would make required management on portfolio based on the proposal," Bhattarai said. 
The meeting of the party unification coordination committee to be held at Balkot would constitute the taskforce comprising leaders from both the parties. 
In today's meeting, UML Chairman Oli briefed the standing committee members about the recent developments regarding the party unification. 
Likewise, UML has expressed displeasure towards the delay in result announcement of proportional representation system under the House of Representatives and the deadlock created for the formation of new government. It also termed it as against the spirit of constitution, according to a press note issued by party secretary after the meeting. 
Furthermore, the UML has asked the government to advance the appointment of State Chief and temporary province capital at once as well as pave the way for the formation of new government. 
Similarly, the meeting has also urged the government not to make any political appointments and distribute funds from the state coffers stating that the new government will not be liable to these matters. 
The meeting has also urged the government to take action against the murders of furniture entrepreneur Basanta Poudel of Devdah municipality, Rupandehi district. 
Likewise, the meeting has urged the government to make required arrangement to the people affected by severe cold in Tarai to ease their daily lives by arranging warm clothes and foods. 
The meeting also condemned the government's arbitrary use of force against the UML and Maoist Centre's cadres in the demonstration held against the government's decision of hiking price on petroleum products few days ago in the capital.
