Province assembly will designate capitals-OPMCM
Kathmandu, The government has stated that the provincial capital would be designated as per the decision of the concerned Provincial Assembly in accordance with the Article 288 (2) of the Constitution.
Issuing a press release here Monday, the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers or OPMCM said that there is a mandatory provision for the Nepal government to designate temporary provincial capitals to initiate province functions until the provincial assembly meeting fixed the capital.
Though the release, the government has informed the public that it is making necessary preparation to designate temporary provincial capital to operate urgent provincial functions including administering oath of office to the newly-elected provincial assembly members.
