Baitadi beneficiaries are deprived of social security allowance for past two months

Baitadi,  The beneficiaries are deprived of social security allowance for the past two months in the district, affecting those the most who depend on the allowance for sustenance.
The government provides Rs 2,000 a month to senior citizens above 70 years of age under this scheme, and Dalits and children will get Rs 1,000 monthly.
Likewise, disabled persons holding red cards under the complete disabled category will get Rs 2,000, while blue card holders Rs 600.
The first installment of four month's allowance was supposed to be distributed in the Nepali month of Kartik, thanks to the failure to update data on the beneficiaries on time.
Of the total 10 local levels in the district, beneficiaries from all except Dasharathchand and Patan Municipalities have been deprived of the facility.
Data on the beneficiaries could not be updated on time due to the restructure of local bodies under the new federal setup, said executive officer at the Surnaya rural municipality Ganesh Singh Airee.
"Updating data on the beneficiaries has been completed. We are preparing to distribute two installments of the allowance including the first installment at a time," he said.
