HoR meeting today, govt to endorse citizenship bill

KATHMANDU, Aug 18: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for Thursday.
During the meeting the government is preparing to endorse the Citizenship Act Amendment bill once again, earlier returned by President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
Earlier on Sunday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari had returned the Citizenship Act Amendment bill endorsed by both the lower and upper house calling for a review as per Article 113 (3) of the Constitution of Nepal.
The government is set to send the bill for authentication without making any changes to it. The members of the ruling alliance have already taken a decision in this regard.
