Rising corona graph: 9,261 cases detected in Nepal since Jan 1

KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Nepal has witnessed a sharp rise in COVID-19 infections in recent days. 

According to the daily COVID-19 updates released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), at least 9,261 new infections were detected between Jan 1 and 10. 

While the first day of the new year reported 382 cases, the highest of 2,444 infections were confirmed on January 11. 

The positivity rate on Jan 1 was 1.8 percent which increased to 16.25 percent by Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, the schools throughout the country have been shut until January 29 to avoid the further transmission of the virus.
