944 people test positive for COVID-19, 297 recover on Saturday

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Officials confirmed that 944 more people contracted the coronavirus disease on Saturday. 

As many as 13,264 tests were carried out across the country to detect 696 cases through the RT-PCR tests and 248 others during 3502 antigen tests. 

Nepal reported 968 cases on Friday. 

With this, the total number of active cases throughout the country has reached 6,140. 

As many as 297 people got over the disease in the past 24 hours as of Saturday afternoon. No death linked with COVID-19 infection was reported in the same period, according to the ministry.
