Nepal records 219 new cases of coronavirus infection

KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The country has recorded a total of 219 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The recent number of coronavirus infections was confirmed after conducting tests among 9,677 persons. 

In the last 24 hours, altogether 283 enjoyed full recovery from the infection, reaching the total number of recovered persons at 810,780. Currently, the recovery rate is 98 percent. 

The country now has 4,906 active cases of coronavirus. The Ministry shared that 75 persons are receiving treatment at ICU and 24 others on ventilator support. 

In the past 24 hours, two persons died of the COVID infection. So far, 11,585 people have lost their lives to coronavirus infection. 

Likewise, altogether 76,330 persons received COVID vaccines during the past 24 hours, the Ministry added.
