National Conference of Maoist Center kicks off today
The party has already decided to convert the conference into the General Convention.
KATHMANDU, December 26: The CPN (Maoist Center) is holding a three-day long national conference in Kathmandu beginning from Sunday.
A meeting of the standing committee of the party held on Saturday took a decision to convert the national conference into the national congress of the party. A meeting of the central committee is scheduled to be held this morning to approve the decision.
Chairman of the party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal – who is almost certain to be elected in the same position from the General Convention – is scheduled to inaugurate the party jamboree at 1 PM on Sunday.
Chairman Dahal is also scheduled to present his political report and statute of the party which will be discussed and reviewed during the event.
As many as 1,631 representatives are due to attend the National General Convention of the party.
