Taskforce begins preliminary discussion on MCC

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: A first meeting of the task force formed by the ruling coalition to reach a conclusion on the United States support project, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) was held on Wednesday. 

Preliminary discussions began on the MCC compact at a meeting held at CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Jhalanath Khanal's house in Dallu, Kathmandu. 

The preliminary discussion advanced positively, according to a task force member and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki. 

The parties of the ruling coalition formed a three-member task force to discuss with other political parties and reach a conclusion on MCC. 

The task force comprises leader Khanal, CPN (Maoist Center) leader NarayanKaji Shrestha and Minister Karki. 

The task force has been mandated to hold necessary discussions with other political parties on issues ranging from resuming the parliamentary procedure to advancing several agendas under consideration at the parliament.
