KATHMANDU, Dec 19: People from the Newar community are celebrating the festival of Yomari Purnima Sunday.

Yomari Purnima, also known as Yomari Punhi, is considered a food festival. 

Yomari is made from fresh rice flour, jaggery and sesame seeds. It is customary to cook Yomari by covering the bathing house. 

The Newar community also celebrates Yomari Purnima by worshiping at the storehouse where the nelly harvested paddy is stored.
