Prakash Man Singh to support Deuba in run-off against Koirala
KATHMANDU, December 14: Prakash Man Singh maintained that he will support incumbent President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in the run-off to be held to elect the President of the Nepali Congress (NC).
PM Deuba is facing Shekar Koirala for the post of party’s president in a run-off after all the five candidates failed to garner more than 50 percent of total votes in the election held on Monday.
In the earlier election, Deuba secured the highest of 2,258 votes, short by 83 votes to be declared the winner, followed by his nearest contender Dr Shekher Koirala with a total of 1,702 votes.
After holding a discussion with Deuba, Singh stated that he would be supporting Deuba in the run-off.
Earlier, Deuba’s contender Shekhar Koirala had also held a discussion with Prakash Man Singh.
With this, it is likely that Deuba will now be easily elected as the President of the NC.
