Nepal and India enjoy deep, sentimental relations: Indian leaders
KATHMANDU: Besides religious and cultural relations, Nepal and India enjoy deep, hearty and emotional ties, said leaders from various political parties of neighboring India.
While addressing the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress at Bhrikutimandap in the capital on Friday, Indian National Congress General Secretary Mukul Wasnik said Nepal and India have cultural, religious and people-to-people relations.
On the occasion, the leader pledged that he and his party would do their best to further consolidate the bilateral ties. As he said, the NC and Indian National Congress marked the historic relations. He was of the opinion that some bilateral issues could be sorted out is based on a ground founded on mutual bonding and friendly relations.
Also addressing the occasion, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr Harsh Vardhan said India and the people there were pained whenever there is discomfort in Nepal.
Recalling the rescue, post-quake relief and aid efforts launched in Nepal in 2015 on the initiation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP leader stated that India had assisted Nepal in enhancing Nepal’s health system during its fight against COVID-19.
As he said, a cordial relationship among the political parties in Nepal is exemplary in the world. He wished that such relations would last long.
