COVID-19: 315 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has updated 315 new cases of coronavirus in the country. It is the result after 11,810 PCR tests conducted in the last 24 hours as of Tuesday afternoon.

With the new cases, the total number of active infections has reached 6,351. 

Similarly, 304 infected persons restored their health. The recovery update has reached a total of 805,205. The recovery rate stands at 97.8 percent, the Ministry added.

Kathmandu and Lalitpur have more than 500 cases of coronavirus infection while the districts having more than 200 cases are Sunsari, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Nawalparasi East, Banke and Kailali.

The districts with no coronavirus infection include Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Humla, Salyan and Mugu. Currently, the infection rate is 17.6 per cent. 

Now, 123 infected persons have been receiving treatment at ICU and 30 in ventilators. 

Meanwhile, two more persons lost their lives to coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours. It takes the total fatality to 11,545.

In the same period, 127,753 were vaccinated against COVID-19.
